On 15th May 2024, Sandar Aung Rebiere, Managing Director of Artemis Business Care, participated in the masterclass jointly organised by the Saudi French Business Council (CAFS) and Skema Business School, at the Federation of Saudi Chambers in Riyadh.

The masterclass on “Demystifying sustainability: new levers of value creation” was delivered by Professor Arnaud Blandin, who has been researching and working with scientists, governments, and companies for decades of the matter of sustainability.

It was a very insightful presentation, offering a realistic approach of the impact of climate change on countries and economies, as well as success stories and recommendations on how companies can tackle the issue of sustainability to reduce costs, increase profit and create new markets in the years to come.

As Dr. Ben Laden, the President of the CAFS, mentioned in his opening remarks, this topic sits at the core of the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to balance the Kingdom’s energy mix with 50% of renewable sources by 2030, and to reach a net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2060.

Dr. Ben Laden underlined with lucidity that Saudi Arabia was in a positive situation compared with many other countries, since it had not only the will to make its economy more sustainable, but also the means to do so without impeding its growth.

The event was concluded by a networking session among participants, allowing for productive meetings and discussions.
