On 7^h May 2024, Artemis Business Care visited the Saudi Entertainment and Amusement Expo 2024 in Riyadh.

Saudi Entertainment and Amusement Expo is the largest gathering of entertainment and leisure industry in the Middle East.

It brings together more than 350 exhibitors, 200 speakers, 12,000 SEA visitors, and 20,000 combined visitors across both co-located shows.

This fifth edition of this event came as the entertainment sector, the most recently emerging industry in Saudi Arabia, continues its boom in line with the diversification of the Kingdom’s economy. The Saudi leisure market, which will grow by 15% until 2027.

Indeed, as part of the programs of the Saudi Vision 2030, the General Entertainment Authority, which has pledged to invest up to $64-billion by 2028 to develop this sector, has already issued licenses for 24 theme parks and 421 entertainment centers.

Qiddiya, one of the giga projects, is also quickly rising up from the sands near Riyadh, and will soon become the capital of entertainment of the whole GCC region.

More than 350 theatres and 2,500 screens will open in the country over the next five years, adding 30,000 jobs to the 100,000 jobs already created in the entertainment sector. And the gaming industry is foreseen to grow by 250% by 2030.

Finally, Saudi Arabia is expecting 100 million visitors annually by 2030, the year when Riyadh will host the World Expo. It will be followed by the FIFA World Cup in 2034.

Therefore, the Saudi entertainment and leisure sector offers very interesting opportunities to European companies.
